That Octopus Book

I finished two things this month: the first draft of my new manuscript, and “that octopus book” that was all the rage last year. In celebration, and in pursuit for a cure for cabin fever (we’ve had snow/illness), I took my family to the National Aquarium. Sadly, the GPO was not only display, but some of my other favorites were- the yellow longnose butterfly fish and the blue blubber jellyfish, to name a few. The outing was a nice source of inspiration as well as distraction. I’ve been deep in the details of this manuscript for some time now, and as any scuba diver knows, I need to take my time ascending in order to surface this story safely (and avoid bad literary metaphors like this one.)
